Dean of Chelmsford
Nicholas became Dean of Chelmsford in 2014. Originally from Manchester, he served as a parish priest in inner city Newcastle upon Tyne for 14 years, followed by 6 years on the staff of Derby Cathedral where he also worked for BBC local radio; and then 6 years at Christ Church, Harrogate.
As Dean, Nicholas has overlapping roles as spiritual leader of the Cathedral community as a whole; as the Cathedral’s lead in the networks of the city and the region; and as the senior priest of the Diocese, supporting the Bishop’s ministry.
