Assistant Director of Music, Samuel Bristow will play Olivier Messiaen’s profound, mystical and extraordinary sequence, La Nativité du Seigneur.
Written in 1935, when the composer was only 26, it uses Messiaen’s own harmonic language to create an ethereal soundworld and imagery, with his signature birdlike sounds, especially where he evokes the world of the angels. Come and listen for a unique spiritual experience.
