Young volunteer creates leaflet for Chelmsford Cathedral as part of Duke of Edinburgh Award

Chelmsford Cathedral is celebrating the contribution of Thomas van Moorsel, who volunteered last year at the Cathedral as part of his Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award.

As part of his volunteering, Thomas produced a brand-new youth-focused leaflet designed to help local young people engage with the Cathedral’s rich history. The leaflet includes fun facts, a quiz, and a wordsearch, all created by Thomas to make learning about the Cathedral both accessible and enjoyable. It will be printed and displayed in the Cathedral later this year, offering visitors a fresh and engaging way to explore the space.

At the end of last year Thomas received his assessor’s report from the Revd Canon Joseph Fernandes, Vice-Dean and Canon for Congregation and Community, who praised him for his imagination, initiative, and dedication throughout the project.
