The Dean of Chelmsford, the Very Revd Nicholas Henshall, introduces St Anthony in the latest in his series of surprising saints. One day, St Anthony heard the gospel reading that told him to sell all he had and give the money to the poor. As a result he chose to live the rest of his life, and he lived to 105, in simplicity, prayer and solitude and in doing so reflected the love and the light of Jesus, an example followed still to this day.
