Mars at Rochester Cathedral Mars at Rochester Cathedral

Plan Your Visit

We're looking forward to welcoming you to view Mars:War & Peace in the Cathedral.

We recommend you spend around 45 mins - 1 hour to fully engage with the art installation but there is no time limit and you are welcome to stay for as long as you wish during our General Admission spots.

To optimise the experience for all attendees, a timed entry ticketing system is in operation. We have spread arrival time slots 30 minutes apart to ensure you have the space to enjoy the experience at your own pace.

Daytime Viewing:

The Cathedral will be open to visitors between 10:00am and 5pm, Tuesday 21 October through Wednesday 12 November, with reduced daytime hours on Sundays.

A chapel remains accessible for private prayer during opening hours.

Evening Viewing:

Our evening sessions will run from 6pm - 10pm (last admission 9.15pm) and the installation will feature enhanced illumination, both internal and external, complemented by a bespoke soundtrack.

Relaxed Viewing Sessions:

Designated sessions are available for those who benefit from a quieter, less crowded environment, including neurodiverse visitors. These times ensure the installation is accessible and comfortable for all.

Cafe

After exploring Mars, why not drop by the Cathedral Chapter House for a coffee and cake? It’s the perfect spot to relax with friends, and children can enjoy our Mars Creative Corner. The cafe will be open Monday- Saturday 10am - 4pm.
