Vaughan Williams Songs of Travel

A song cycle of nine songs, settings by Ralph Vaughan Williams of poems drawn from the Robert Louis Stevenson collection ‘Songs of Travel and other verses’, which depict reflections and journeys of a world-weary traveller. As well as, ‘Dichterliebe’, Robert Schumann’s most famous song cycle, setting 16 poems by Heinrich Heine to music, exploring themes of love, longing and heartbreak. Baritone – Angus McPhee, Pianist – Emma Gibbins.
