For 10 weeks, a swarm of giant and mini bee sculptures will be installed through streets, parks and places of interest, encouraging locals and visitors to get out, bee active and enjoy spending time in our buzzing city!
And we are taking part!
The art trail is completely free for everyone to enjoy. You can follow the trail using a printed map or a mobile app to discover more about each bee, its artist and its sponsors.
After the trail closes these spectacular artworks will be auctioned off to raise much-needed funds for Farleigh Hospice.
Our Chief Operating Officer Justine Horseman Sewell commented,
"We are delighted to be part of the Chelmsford “Buzz in the City” art trail event. We will be welcoming one of the wonderful bee sculptures for exhibition in our Churchyard, and will be using this as a focus for a whole programme of summer events here at the Cathedral. We are very proud to play a part in the community, helping to raise funds for local hospice care, and of our Gold Eco church award. We will be thinking about bees, biodiversity, food sourcing, our environment and the important part we all play in caring for our natural world in the coming months."
