We love to welcome children and families to Chelmsford Cathedral.
We love to welcome children and families to Chelmsford Cathedral.
We usually have lots planned so that we can have fun together while exploring the Christian faith.
Junior Church, our outdoor family service, runs on Sunday mornings but there are special activities and events that take place in school holidays too. Continue reading this page to find out more including our latest events for you to join in with.
Junior Church takes place at the same time as the Sunday morning Eucharist.
Junior Church meets outside in the lovely Guy Harlings garden (behind the Diocesan and Cathedral offices) and is an interactive time of worship and learning for families of all ages – children and adults together.
On the last Sunday of each month, Junior Church meets with the whole congregation in the Cathedral.
The garden provides a relaxed and beautiful setting in which to worship and is right next to the Learning Centre whenever an indoor space is required. We enjoy using the garden space to the full, getting to know God and one another better as we listen to stories and engage with the Bible, enjoy craft and trails and pray together.
Muddy Church is a great time for all the family! It's an opportunity to explore God through creation and the sessions are all outside so do dress according to the weather. Muddy Church starts at 3pm and finishes around 4.30pm. Email Jean for more information.
Join us on Wednesdays between 9.30am and 11.30am in the Learning Centre and Guy Harlings garden for a new baby and toddler group run by Jean Elliott, our children and families leader.
You'll find a big welcome for you and your pre-school children, indoor and outdoor fun, singing and rhyme time, new friends.
No charge but donations welcome.
Just come along or email Jean for more details
