In baptism we thank God for his gift of life and publicly acknowledge his love. Baptism is a sacrament, a holy ritual to symbolise grace, in the Christian tradition that is traced back to Jesus himself being baptised in the river Jordan. Chelmsford Cathedral is pleased to baptise those who live within the Cathedral parish, and members of our congregation. Those who live outside our parish should contact their own parish church; you can find out which parish you live in by clicking on the link here.
If you would like more information about a baptism at the Cathedral please contact the Cathedral Office who will be happy to discuss it with you.
The Cathedral runs confirmation preparation for adults and young people; for more information please contact the Cathedral on 01245 294492 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
“For Christians, marriage represents not only an unchanging ideal but forms the bedrock of society. We marry not only because we love, but to be helped to love. Those who commit to each other in marriage do so knowing that they will find support during hard times and enjoy the security and contentment they need to grow and develop as human beings.”
Chelmsford Cathedral is pleased to welcome those who live within its parish, and congregation members, to have their wedding service here. Our Vice Dean, Canon Ivor Moody, would be happy to meet with you and discuss the next steps in this important milestone. We encourage you to have a look at the link below to get more information on planning your service. We will work with you on finding a suitable date and preparing you for your wedding day.
