"FLUTEY" FLAVOUR FESTIVAL FOR CATHEDRAL

Chelmsford pianist, Tim Carey and his friends have agreed to stage a third mini 3-day music festival at Chelmsford Cathedral in May which replaces the traditional Cathedral Festival held over the past 20 years.

The festival to be staged from Thurs, May 6 to Sat, May 8th features three Internationally known flautists, Ina Clarke and Trevor Wye, who entertain on the first night, and Clare Southworth who will play the Mozart D major flute concert on the final evening with the Chelmsford Sinfonietta, the town's professional orchestra. "As a result the festival will have a decidedly 'flutey' flavour," says Mr Carey.

On the Friday evening, Grace Francis known to have an" astonishing piano technique" will entertain. All concerts at 7.30 will be open to the public though at least 100 subscribers at £100 each will be needed to make the festival viable. Subscribers will receive two tickets for each performance with seats in the centre block of the Cathedral. Other tickets are £15 with £7 for under 18s and students.
