CATHEDRAL HOSTS WEDDING COUPLES
Chelmsford Cathedral will celebrate St Valentine's Day with a service for married couples and the opportunity for them to renew their solemn vows once again in church. The service at 3pm on Sunday (Feb 14) is open to all married folk and children are welcome, too. The event is designed as a Thanksgiving for married life.
Tea and cake follows arranged by the Cathedral branch of the Mothers' Union. Please advise Rosy Baxter at the Cathedral Office on 012445 294489 if you wish to come to the reception after the service. It is free but the Cathedral authorities need to know numbers. The Dean and Chapter invite married folk to prayer and "party"!
CATHEDRAL SAYS FAREWELL
The community of the Cathedral said Farewell last night (Feb 7) at Evensong to the Vice-dean Revd Canon Walter King and his wife Pamela on his retirement. The Dean, the Very Revd Peter Judd thanked them for their friendship and skills on behalf of the four congregations and presented Canon King with a cheque.
