ROYAL ORGANIST FOR CHELMSFORD
The sub organist of H M Chapels Royal has been appointed Assistant Director of Music at Chelmsford Cathedral. Oliver Waterer, 30, begins work next month after a year playing for services with the Chapel Royal Choir and teaching as organist and chorister tutor at Willington School, Wimbledon where he was involved in the setting up of a new boys' choir foundation .
Mr Waterer, an Essex man who originates from " farming stock" at Halstead, graduated at the Birmingham Conservatoire in 2001 winning the John Campbell prize. He has also worked at Peterborough and Guildford cathedrals and has played at Birmingham frequently for the "Daily Service" on BBC Radio 4. He takes over from Tom Wilkinson who has been appointed Director of Chapel Music at St Andrew's University after a year at Chelmsford.
SUMMER CONCERTS CONTINUE
Daniel Soper, Assistant Director of Music at Rochester Cathedral, and a former organ scholar at Chelmsford, is the recitalist at next Saturday's concert (Aug 8th) in the Cathedral at 6.30pm., in the new summer organ series. (Tickets at the south door £5).
PLEA FOR RIDERS AND WALKERS

CHEMSFORD SINGERS AT CATHEDRAL
Members of the Chelmsford Singers will combine with the Cathedral Voluntary Choir to sing at the Choral Eucharist on Sunday (Aug 9th) at 11.15am. The sermon will be preached by the diocesan theologian, the Rev Canon Andrew Knowles.
