CATHEDRAL FULL HOUSE FOR DEACONS

Sixteen men and women from Essex and East London were ordained deacon in the Church of England by the Bishop of Chelmsford, the Right Revd John Gladwin in the cathedral yesterday (Sun, July 5). The address was given by the Revd Judy Hirst, Local Ministry Development Officer for the dioceses of Durhan and Newcastle. The deacons ordained were from all three Episcopal areas:

and Alexander Summers, St Peter and St Paul, Chingford.

CHOIR AT BRADWELL CHAPEL

The Chelmsford Cathedral Choir will sing Evensong at the historic chapel of St Peter on the Wall, Bradwell on Saturday ( July 11) at 5pm in place of at the Cathedral. The chapel founded by St Cedd in 654AD, was the centre of a pilgrimage last Saturday (July 4) when about 1,000 pilgrims gathered to honour St Cedd.
