LENT PROGRAMME LAUCHED AT CATHEDRAL
The accent on Lent this year is giving extra time to study and contemplation rather than just giving up luxuries - eg: chocolate. The Lent programme launched on Ash Wednesday (Feb 25) includes a series of Thursday lunchtime light lunches in the Cathedral at 12.30 with a speaker and evening study groups led by the clergy.
The programme, "Our life with God - a developing relationship", is available at the south porch. Visitors are welcome as usual. The Monday evenings begin on March 9 with a talk by the Dean, the Very Revd Peter Judd in the Chapter House, 7.45pm..
In addition, there will be appropriate music and prayers at all services with a penitential theme. The preachers next Sunday (March 8) are the Revd Canon Andrew Knowles, theologian at the 9.30 Parish Eucharist and the Vice-dean, the Revd Canon Walter King at Choral Mattins, 11.15.am:the Precentor, Canon Simon Pothen at 6pm.
CATHEDRAL COFFEE
The monthly Cathedral Coffee Morning is held this Saturday, March 7 in the Chapter House from 10am to noon. All welcome.
CHELMSFORD MEN IN VOICE
The Chelmsford Male Voice Choir are the entertainers at the Friday lunchtime concert at the Cathedral on Friday, March 13. An organ recital by Stephen Moore is this Friday (March 6). Both concerts are at 12.30 with refreshments served from 12 noon

The Vicar of St John's Church, Moulsham, the Revd Keith Magee is the guest speaker at the Men's Breakfast in the Chapter House on Sat, March 14 at 8.30am : bookings with Mervyn Marshall, Church warden on 01245 281567. Cost :£4.

The Dean of St Albans, the Very Revd Jeffrey John is the speaker at the annual Cathedral dinner on Fri, May 2 in the Cathedral by candlelight, 7.15pm.. Details later.
