CATHEDRAL MUSIC BY CANDLELIGHT
In order to support the Choral Foundation at Chelmsford Cathedral, musicians have arranged to play and sing by candlelight at a special concert on Saturday (Feb 21). The tickets at £12 are available at the south door on arrival or from the Cathedral Music Department on 01245 294486 or on music@chelmsfordcathedral.org.uk
The music, which includes a Bach cantata and trio sonatas by Corelli, begins at 7.30pm, and is directed by Tom Wilkinson, the new Assistant Director of Music. Artists include Jon Scainsby, baritone and Frazer Kelman, oboe, playing the concerto by Marcello, and the Holywell String Quartet. The Choral Foundation provides bursaries and music support for children and adults in the Chelmsford Cathedral Choir.

CATHEDRAL AT LUNCHTIME
The artists next Friday, Feb 20 at the lunch time concert are the Gaudeamus Chamber Choir at 12.30 with refreshments served after midday prayers at 12 noon. On Friday, Feb 27, the Forest School Chamber Choir entertain at 12.30. Admission free.
CATHEDRAL HEALING SERVICE
The Bishop of Colchester, the Right Revd Christopher Morgan was the preacher at a Healing Service on Sunday (Feb 15) led by the Dean, the Very Revd Peter Judd. The Voluntary Choir sang the service of Evensong. A visiting choir, the Oriana Singers sung the Choral Eucharist service earlier at 11.15, when the Dean gave the address.
FAREWELL TO ARCHDEACON
A Farewell service and Thanksgiving for the work of the Archdeacon of Harlow, the Venerable Peter Taylor takes place at the Cathedral on Saturday, Feb 28. at 4.30pm. All welcome.
